My weekend alone

This weekend Chris went up north and the kids spent the weekend with Grandma Kathy. I worked on the landscaping all weekend with my dad and grandpa. It was totally worth it! I will no longer have to fight with the grass creeping into the landscaping beds! My dad found something that works great and will not come out! It turned out awesome! Before pictures:

Field Trip

On friday we went on a field trip with Karli's class to the Detroit Science center. The kids had a great time. First we explored a little, then we went to kids town. We saw a movie about the solar system in the planetarium, explored some more, had lunch, and headed home. Here are a few pictures:

Look out for crazy drivers

Here they come.......... get off the sidewalks!

Birthday Boy

The night before Easter...... Karli, Cameron and myself all had the stomach flu. We had to cancel Easter and celebrating Cameron's birthday until a later date. On Monday, Cameron opened his present and blew the candles out on his cake, but he decided he would save the cake for another day. Finally Thursday (today) his appetite came back and he felt well enough for cake!

Happy 3rd Birthday Cameron!

My sweet boy will be 3 tomorrow on April 5! I'm so proud of the little boy he has become. He is polite, caring, and a mommy's boy! Hope you have a great birthday little man :)

Low grocery bills

I have been getting many questions about how I keep my grocery bill so low. I will tell you how I do it. This is for some people and it's not for others. For instance last week at Meijer I spent $54.63 and my savings was $49.93. I saved my self half! It is totally worth the time and effort for me.

First off, I usually do my shopping at Meijer. This is how my mom always shopped when I grew up too:) I wait for the sale paper for the week and browse through it to see what is on sale for the week. I base my menu planning off of what is on sale. I only do Menu planning for dinners. This way I won't buy extra stuff that I don't need, I only buy what I need for the week. When meat goes on sale, I stock up and freeze it. Then I refer to the Bargains to Bounty website. http://www.bargainstobounty.com/ This website matches all of the current deals with coupons out there (printable off of the Internet or from the Sunday paper etc.) This website does match ups for many other stores as well! That's how I do it.
