Friday night we went to the bay Rama festival in New Baltimore. We ran into Tracy and Jill and their kids. It was a nice evening!
Saturday we had a graduation party to attend and Sunday we went to Suzy and Jim's house to play their Wii. First time we have played, even Karli did great at Golf and Bowling!

locks of love
Down for the count( for the second time)
Another round of nasty storms came through yesterday. This time the kids and I were home and had to go in the basement. I thought the wind was going to blow my front door open. The swing set is in the neighbors yard again! Good thing Chris hasn't fixed it yet. He would have been pretty mad. It looks like we are going to have to cement it in the ground. The wind knocked the neighbors grill over and their patio furniture was gone.
These are pictures of Chris' dad's house. The tree in his front yard fell on his roof. Chris said it was hit by lightning and is black charred where the tree split. His poor neighbor across the street had a tree through his roof. A few weeks ago their house was the one that the wire fell on and they lost their A/C, microwave, stove, pretty much anything that was plugged in, and something happened to there pipes as well. This is just what they needed!

It's nice having a dog again
Weekend in review
Sunday we worked on the landscaping a bit. We went to Jay and Julie's house to see their updated house and to take some bushes that they were getting rid of. These are beautiful blooms from our hydrangea bushes. Chris spread mulch most of the day as I planted the bushes and hostas. Grandma Kathy and Papa Gus stopped by for a visit as well.

First day of Summer!
In honor of the fist day of summer, I changed the background of the blog. Near 80 today is much better. 70 as the high for the past few days has felt more like spring or fall.
New Bike
Karli was sooooo excited this week when daddy bought her a new bike! It was a surprise (to mommy and Karli)! She was suppose to earn this bike. But like me, Chris is a sucker to. According to him, she earned it for sleeping in her room all night. Unfortunately it hasn't happened again since that night.

Mom is a sucker!
How can I resist this face? Well, Karli is back in her own room and going to sleep in her own bed....but around 2:00am she sneaks into our bed. I just don't have the fight in me at that time of night. My sleep is too precious. I'm selfishly taking the easy way out. At least I admit it, that counts for something right? We have removed all "scary" stuffed animals and her tent out of her room to help eliminate some fears. Pretty soon she will have nothing left but a bed in there.
Cameron 's new thing is...... if you say "What do you have?" he opens his mouth and shows you. He also uses "dip dip" for fries and chicken, etc. (he has to do everything just like sissy)

getting swingset out of neighbors yard
Now, tell me how wind could lift this up, if it takes Chris' truck to stand it back up. Very powerful! The funny thing is......our neighbors patio set that is directly behind the swing set stood absolutely still. It will need a few things replaced, at least it's not a total goner. Karli surprisingly took it very well.

swimming and wicked weather
We had a nice time swimming at grandma's house today. It took Karli a few minutes to get used to the swimming again and then she was off by herself and jumping off the ladder.
Then we came home to this. Our VERY HEAVY swing set was lifted by the wind and thrown into our neighbors yard. Our neighbor across the street said he saw it happen and couldn't believe it. Two streets over there was a graduation tent that flew across the streets denting cars, breaking their windows. It looked like a pretzel laying in the field with broken metal posts. I'm glad i wasn't home when all this was going on, I would have been terrified. We were at my mom's and it wasn't bad at all. Chris was over his dad's house working on the car when the sirens started going off. Lots of snapped trees there. Chris was stuck for a while because a wire was down on the house across the street and his car was blocked by fire trucks and caution tape.

Congratulations Warren and Jill! We went to their wedding last night in Birmingham at the community house. They had an outdoor ceremony under a tent, which was very nice. Then we moved inside to the main ballroom for dinner and dancing. We got home just before the storms hit! What a lightning show! To see more pics, click Here. There are some pics of the kids playing in the pool, the wedding, and one of the wicked weather that came through.
3 nights in a row!
Karli has been sleeping in her own bed. However her mattress is in our room. Remember, baby steps.....we will eventually move it back into her room. She did wake up screaming in horror on the 3rd night because she had a nightmare about Xena (my mom's cat), that almost ruined all of our progress!Thursday, June 5, 2008
Wild waves waterpark
Where do they come up with these names. Does this look like it has waves or is a water park? Anyways, Grandma Kathy bought the kids a pool. In order for Karli to be able to play in it, I told her she HAD to sleep in her own bed. For the WHOLE night, or she would have to watch mommy and Cameron play in the pool. It worked! We are taking baby steps. This monster stage is getting old! She was so proud when she woke up this morning, and she said it wasn't even scary to sleep in her own bed last night. I think she just didn't want something else taken away from her. She wrote on grandma's carpet yesterday with a marker and her consequence was that she was not able to watch TV today.

Celebrate life! We love a survivor!
This past Sunday we celebrated life at the Troy Beaumont cancer survivor picnic. Carmen is a survivor now for over 2o years! Uncle Pete, Aunt Linda, Pete, Katie, and their children also came to celebrate as well as Uncle Rich and Morgan. The kids had fun playing games and winning prizes. Every year there is a tree planting ceremony as well.
