Christmas festivities........

We started our Christmas celebrations early with The Ugolini family. We had them over the Sunday before Christmas. We had a dirty Santa exchange and all of the kids received gifts. We ate a lot. It was nice to see everyone! Chris' cousin Pete and his family came in town from the Grand Rapids area.

Christmas eve was celebrated at my dad's house. We ate the best shrimp ever, exchanged presents and headed off to Aunt Nancy's house. We exchanged presents with Grandpa Wayne and the kids played with Emily and Jason (my cousin Chris' kids).

Christmas day was CRAZY! We had our Santa celebration in the morning. Then went to Carmen's house for brunch and exchanged presents. Then off to my mom's to exchange. Then Uncle Brian, Carolyn, and her parents came to my mom's to celebrate. Then we went to Chris' grandma's house to celebrate. Exhausting! We have made a resolution that we will NOT do that again!

This is a picture of the kids all dressed up on Christmas eve.

This is the fam in front of the tree on Christmas day at my mom's house.

Sledding

Today we went to the sledding hill near our house. We saw most of our neighbors there. Cameron had a great time. When he got to the bottom of the hill he would say "Please," meaning he wanted to go again! Karli's new sled is really fast!

Snow day

We played in the snow for a while today. The snow was too deep to climb up the big snow hill near our house. But the hill off of the front porch was fun! Cameron is afraid of the sled and screams bloody murder. NO IDEA WHY!

Christmas Party at school

Yesterday Cameron and I visited Karli's classroom as they celebrated Christmas. The kids sang a bunch of Christmas songs, had an ornament exchange, and presented parents with gifts (a hand made wreath and ornament with their picture in it, so cute!) We had fun! Below is a video of Karli and Cameron singing songs with bells. Unfortunately I am sitting behind Karli, so you see Mrs. Sharon (her teacher) and the back of Karli's head (she's in the red striped turtleneck). Sorry for all the moving, I was trying to keep an eye on Cameron at the same time!

My cousin Renee' had her baby this morning. She was only 26 weeks pregnant. Please keep them in your prayers!

There are also updates posted on my cousin's blog Peyton's Place. You can check out my uncle's blog at Aftermath as well. This picture is from Renee's blog.

Birthday celebration

This Sunday we had family over to celebrate Karli's 4th birthday. It was wonderful to have everyone over to the house. Karli's party was Tinkerbell themed, and the cake was wonderful (from Kroger)! She received lots of nice gifts.....can we re wrap them all for Christmas please! Maybe she won't notice. Below is a picture of "twinkle toes" prancing around in Karli's new skirt. Doesn't he look like he's having a blast! Chris hopes this is just a phase!

Our visit with Santa

Today we went to the Christmas open house at the Chesterfield Library. What a nice setup! Santa came in and Karli gave him a big hug and Cameron said Hi (no tears!) I was shocked. They had a string quartet playing Christmas music. Cameron sat on Santa's lap first, while Karli had a shy moment. They had a goodie bag for each kid, a craft, cookies, and hot chocolate. Karli decided to wait a little while and come back later to visit Santa, even though she had just given him a big hug. Karli did her craft and then was ready to show Santa what she made and we got a few more pictures, still no line. Oh, and it was FREE!

This was last years pic:

Last week Karli celebrated her birthday at school and was the special person that day too. She brought treats, juice, and stickers for the class. They sang Happy Birthday to her, she wore this festive hat, and received this card from her teacher.

Last night for my work Christmas party I went on The Star Clipper Dinner train in Walled Lake. The train ride was about 3 1/2 hours long. It included a 5 course dinner and a murder mystery. Not quite what I expected, but something different from the norm. My meal was good, not much scenery to look at. We had fun waving at the cars that were stopped at the RR crossings and staring at people in through their door walls. The train traveled 4 miles east of the station then 4 miles west of the station very slowly. Not for people that may get motion sickness I think. What I hear from many people, I'm lucky to even have had a work Christmas party at all!
